What time of day did you take your photograph? I took most of my photos at the same time. I took them mid afternoon at about 3:00 p.m. The sun was perfect at this time because it gave off the perfect rays and light for each photo. Where was the light you photographed? All of the photos were taken at my house. The flower picture was taken next to my deck, the picture of my dog was taken outside in my backyard, and the picture of the string lights was taken in my room. Describe the composition of your photograph. Were there shadows that accompanied the light? In the picture of the flowers, the light hit perfectly because it gave the leaves a shadow which was reflected on the leaves and made the photo more interesting to look at. What feeling or mood does the light in your composition suggest? The flower photo had a positive mood because of the color that was captured in it. The photo is mostly green but the pink flowers catch your eye and are your focal point in the photo.

Mirrors
Reflection
What was your location and setting? All of my photos that were posted were taken in the courtyard except for the third photo which was taken in front of the school. How did you use positioning of the mirror and camera to create your composition? For the flower photos, I put the mirror very close to them so I could get the reflection of the flowers with the crack from the mirror. The picture in the tree I put the mirror in the branch and aimed the camera so it showed the reflection of the branches in the tree. Were you able to create anything unexpected in your reflection? The last picture had 2 mirrors on the cement and the reflector was held up. The reflection came out very interesting and showed different angles of the school and background behind me. How does your setting contrast with the rest of your image? Most of my pictures have a similar setting and in some photos you can see either in the reflection or the background that I was in the courtyard when the photos were taken. This showed similar aspects in each photo. Are your photos unexpected? evocative? confusing? playful? Funny? I think my photos are eye-catching and interesting to look at, especially the cracked mirror photos. What idea/concept are your reflection photos about? There was no main idea/concept that my photos were following I just tried to make each photo look as interesting as possible and find different/cool angles to make the photos more aesthetically pleasing. Were you able to blur the line between illusion and reality? How? Most of my photos you can easily identify what is being captured so I was not able to blur the line between illusion and reality. What photographer/artist most influenced your photos? I was not influenced by any artist I just used my imagination and creativeness to capture the photos.
Cyanotype
Cyanotype process:
Take a picture of the subject you desire
In photoshop, invert your photo so it is in black and white to create a negative of the photo
We printed the photos and painted the paper with the cyanotype solution
We set the photo on top of the painted paper and let it sit outside in the sun for a certain amount of time depending how dark or light you wanted your image to turn out (exposure time)
Once your photo was outside for a good amount of time we brought them in to rinse them in hot water and wash off the rest of the solution from the pictures
Then we soaked them in hydrogen peroxide and let them dry
